A sunflower follows the sun all day. Its seeds are laid in spirals, the way nature fits the most into the least space. When they ripen, one falls. This is our seed. What follows is its journey.

The harvest

Once the seed has gained weight and dried on the stalk, a combine cuts the heads and separates the grain. The raw seed is dried and cleaned of dust and empty seeds.

We pick the best

We buy the raw seed for Golden Seed in China. Before shipping we check samples: size, fullness, cleanliness. Our seed was selected.

04 / 09 · The road

Across the border to Uzbekistan

The selected seed travels from China to us. On the way it must stay dry and whole. At our site in Yangiyer — a second intake inspection.

05 / 09 · Calibration

One to one

One batch holds seeds of one size, so they roast evenly. Small and empty ones are sifted out; the last selection is by hand.

06 / 09 · Roasting

Roasted to gold

In small batches, watching temperature and time until the kernel is an even gold. After the drum the seed is cooled at once.

07 / 09 · Control

Eight stages. Fifteen criteria.

Every batch is checked, from size and colour to taste and crunch. A pack does not leave production until the batch has passed every stage.

08 / 09 · Packing

Sealing the crunch

Packed in 100 g and 200 g, every pack weighed. A tight bag protects from moisture and light, so the seed stays crunchy for the full 6-month shelf life.

How long do the seeds keep?

Shelf life is 6 months in a sealed pack. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

What makes Golden Seed different?

We calibrate seeds by hand, roast in small batches and check every pack against 15 criteria at 8 stages. So every seed in the pack is the same size and roasted the same way.

Where does the raw seed come from?

We buy raw seed in China, check samples before shipping and run a second intake inspection at our Yangiyer production site.
